Jacintho Jorge (Gonçalves Pereira) Pereira migrated from São Miguel, Açores, Portugal to Hawai'i.

Jacintho Jorge "George" Gonçalves Pereira was born in the sixth hour of the morning, on the 21st of January 1890, in the parish of Feteiras.^[1] He was the fifth child, of the ten born to John Gonçalves Pereira and Alexandrina Amélia "Alice" da Conceição Pereira.^[1] His family moved from Portugal to Hawaii in 1895 when he was just five years old.^[2] His twin sisters Sylvana and Jessie were born in Hilo, Hawaii.

Jacintho married Viriginia Farias after the 11th of November 1911 when he was issued a marriage license.^[3]
